Want to become an accredited Ultimate Frisbee Coach? Take a Coaching Course, then you will be recognised by schools, universities and governments nationwide as an Ultimate Frisbee coach. There’s two ways to do it.

QUDA runs a series of nationally accredited Coach training courses, primarily for current Ultimate Frisbee players who want to improve their knowledge and skills at teaching the game to new players. Around 3-4 courses are run each year, but more can be provided at desired times and places if demand requires. QUDA aims to provide courses for groups of 6 to 20 participants.

QUDA also provides Coach trainers for the Queensland Government’s Get Active Queensland Accreditation Program (GAQAP), which provides teachers, school sport volunteers, tertiary and senior secondary school students throughout Queensland with accreditation as an Ultimate Coach. Around 2-3 GAQAP Ultimate Frisbee courses are run each year.

The Coaching Course takes one day and requires attendees to complete the Australian Sports Commission online Beginning Coaching General Principles before attending.

If you already have some coaching qualifications then you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning and may find that some sessions in the course are optional for you.

GAQAP courses are free for teachers, school sport volunteers and tertiary and senior secondary school students. QUDA charges $60 per person for its own courses. All courses include lunch, a textbook and Registration with the Australian Sports Commission as an accredited Ultimate Frisbee Coach.

QUDA also maintains a list of accredited coaches who are available to provide paid coaching services to schools and other interested groups. You can register your interest in casual coaching via the AFDA website. To provide coaching services to young people in Queensland, you must have a Blue Card – fill in the form, then forward to coaching@quda.org for QUDA to complete and submit.
