2012 Annual General Meeting

Greetings Queensland ultimate community,

The Annual General Meeting of the Queensland Ultimate Disc Association (QUDA) will be held on Saturday 3 March 2012, at the Griffith Sports Fields, Kessels Road, Nathan at approximately 12pm (i.e. during the lunch break at Regionals / Women's Hat.

The purpose of the AGM is to elect the 2012-13 Management Committee, report on 2011, and consider any motions or general business.

We will aim to circulate the QUDA Annual Report 2011 via email before the meeting, and have copies available on the day.

The following positions will be up for election:

  1. President (nomination: Sandra Poon)
  2. Treasurer (nomination: Sean Mailander)
  3. Secretary (nomination: Jo Ashdown)
  4. General Member(s) (nomination: Matt Boevink)

If you wish to nominate for a position, please submit your nomination to me or a member of the Executive prior to the AGM.

The following motion will also be proposed by the 2011 Management Committee:
"That QUDA increase its fees from 20% of the AFDA fee for tournaments and leagues:
- for leagues and tournaments in Brisbane, to 75% of the AFDA fee for events commencing after 1 July 2012
- for leagues and tournaments outside Brisbane, to 75% of the AFDA fee for events commencing after 1 July 2013."

Very generally, if approved, this would increase the typical League fee by $10, and a typical tournament fee by $5, and enable QUDA to hire a permanent part-time Development Officer for 2-3 days per week. A discussion of this issue including comments from a variety of players is available at: http://brisbaneultimatedisc.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/other-states-are-doi... . Please read through and add your comments to this online discussio n for all of our perusal. QUDA is not planning to have a long, drawn-out discussion during the AGM on this matter.

Please contact me with any queries.

Regards,
Emma Briggs
QUDA Secretary
